Douglas Aviation is drawing on the experiences of its founder and management team in providing aviation services to the global aviation industry since the 1990’s and we have developed a network of staff and professional associates with the expertise to deal with your aviation requirements.
Douglas Aviation is licensed by the Financial Supervision Commission (the “FSC”) of the Isle of Man. The FSC is an independent statutory body responsible for the licensing and supervision of the private financial and commercial sector in the Isle of Man.
The management and staff at Douglas Aviation have a wealth of experience in the industry. We have provided our services to aircraft manufacturers, leasing companies, airlines, investors and financial institutions and take great pride in our ability to deliver an efficient and quality service.
Our People
Niall McNamara - Chief Executive
Niall has 16 years experience in the aviation industry. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG Ireland, Niall’s career in aviation started with GPA Group plc in 1992. He was appointed Managing Director of the Isle of Man operations for GPA in 1994 and went on to establish Douglas Aviation (Isle of Man) in December 1995.
Niall has managed Douglas Aviation from its inception and developed an aviation business of international repute. He has gained an impressive portfolio of aviation clients and developed a team of aviation professionals with extensive expertise in this sector. Niall is a director of several aviation and transport companies operating from the Isle of Man, Ireland, Jersey and Malta.
Robert R. Jones - Director & Company Secretary
Robert has been working with aviation clients since 1991 and has specialised experience in aircraft finance, leasing and crew management. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales having gained experience with two of the UK’s largest accountancy practices before entering into a local partnership in 1979. He has continued in general practice since that date, but with an increasing involvement in company management. He is a director of numerous companies with varied international activities, several of which are subsidiaries of plc’s.
Robert started working with Douglas Aviation in 1995 and became Director in 1997. In 2002, Robert was appointed Company Secretary.
Peter Kelly - Non-executive Director
Peter has been working with aviation companies from the mid 1970's and Peter has provided his expertise as a director to many of our client companies and to Douglas Aviation. As a non-executive on the board of Douglas Aviation, Peter has made a significant contribution to the development and direction of the company.
Hilary Healy - Office Manager
Hilary joined Douglas Aviation in 2007 and has gained significant experience in secretarial and administration matters concerning aviation companies. Hilary previously worked in the Insurance Industry in Dublin and the Isle of Man for over 20 years. She gained experience in a large brokerage firm in Dublin and then spent two years in Paris. On her return she moved to the Isle of Man where she has worked for Zurich International and Scottish Provident, the last 10 years of her career have been in International Underwriting and claims.
Hilary looks after the day to day running of the Douglas Aviation office and enjoys working with the aviation clients and delivering an efficient and professional service.
Sharon Sullivan - Accounts Assistant
Sharon has worked with several well known household names including Abbey National and Hewlett Packard, combining her employment with exam success at honours degree and postgraduate level. She has over 10 years experience working in financial support roles including public and NGO organisations such as the Isle of Man Government and the island's largest charity. Qualified as an ACCA Certified Accounting Technician and a full member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, these studies have enabled her to develop her expertise and experience in the more challenging aspects of her accounting position with Douglas Aviation. |
