Douglas Aviation have been providing aviation services from the Isle of
Man to the global aviation industry since 1995 and we have developed a
network of staff and professional associates with the expertise to deal
with your aviation requirements.
Douglas Aviation is licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Supervision
Commission (the “FSC”) as a Corporate Service Provider. The FSC is an
independent statutory body responsible for the licensing and supervision
of the private financial and commercial sector in the Isle of Man.
The management and staff at Douglas Aviation have a wealth of
experience in the industry. We have provided our services to aircraft
manufacturers, leasing companies, airlines, investors and financial
institutions and take great pride in our ability to deliver an efficient and
quality service.
Our People
Niall McNamara - Chief Executive
“Niall” has 14 years experience in the aviation
industry. Having qualified as a Chartered
Accountant with KPMG Ireland, Niall’s career in
aviation started with GPA Group plc in 1992. He
was appointed Managing Director of the Isle of Man operations for
GPA in 1994 and went on to establish Douglas Aviation in
December 1995.
Niall has managed Douglas Aviation for the last 12 years and
developed an aviation business of international repute. Under his
guidance, Douglas Aviation has gained an impressive portfolio of
aviation clients and developed a team of aviation professionals with
extensive expertise in their sector.
PJ McGoldrick - Chairman
“PJ” has 42 years experience in the aviation
industry. PJ was Managing Director of TransMeridian
Airlines in the United Kingdom before launching
HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited. After eight years of
profitable operations, which saw HeavyLift,
developed into the world leader in the movement of outsize cargo
PJ left HeavyLift to return to Ireland.
As Ryanair Group Chief Executive, PJ managed the business during
a critical period of the company’s development and move to its
Stansted base in the United Kingdom. When PJ joined Ryanair, the
Company was losing £8 Million per annum, he left the Company
after completing a re-organization of its business and the company
was profitable.
PJ left Ryanair to launch his own airline, TransAer that had 10 years
of successful operations until it closed in October 2000, due to the
adverse effect of the Kosovo War and the collapse of a related US
airline.
PJ founded EUjet in 2002 before selling the airline to PlaneStation
PLC Group in 2004.
PJ has a long association with Douglas Aviation and has recently
been appointed Chairman.
Robert R. Jones - Director & Company Secretary
“Robert” has been working with aviation clients
since 1991 and has specialised experience in
aircraft finance, leasing and crew management.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England
and Wales having gained experience with two of the UK’s largest
accountancy practices before entering into a local partnership in
1979. He has continued in general practice since that date, but
with an increasing involvement in company management. He is a
director of numerous companies with varied activities worldwide,
several of which are subsidiaries of plc’s.
Robert started working with Douglas Aviation in 1995 and became
Director in 1997. In 2002, Robert was appointed Company
Secretary. |
