The Isle of Man has recently introduced an International Aircraft Register, for non-commercial Aircraft. The Country designator is “M”. This is the first dedicated corporate aircraft register service in a European time zone.

From an operational and financial point of view the Isle of Man international aircraft register is unrivalled within the aviation community, with advantages including:

OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY
The register is an independent British Register and will not be regarded as a Flag of Convenience.

SECURITY
The identity and nationality of the owner and operator of the aircraft can remain private. As the Isle of Man is not, and has never been, a member of the United Kingdom or European Union, the “M” Registration is seen as politically neutral. This is likely to appeal to many users in the post 9/11 environment.

TAXATION
The Isle of Man has introduced a 0% standard rate of corporation tax and all aviation transactions will qualify for this 0% rate. In addition, there is no Manx insurance premium tax (usually 5%), significantly lowering the cost of operating aircraft from the Island.

VAT ZERO-RATING
The Isle of Man is the only offshore centre that enables registration for EU VAT / IVA, yet still enables businesses to benefit from a zero direct tax regime. If you are liable to pay VAT on the purchase of your next aircraft, we can advise you and handle the process of reducing your VAT liability (possibly to zero).

AIRCRAFT MORTGAGE
The Isle of Man has established an aircraft mortgage register, identical to the UK legislation. The register offers an office hours mortgage registration service and at other times by arrangement.

FINANCIAL
The Isle of Man is a fully developed offshore financial services centre and can meet the financing requirements of most aviation activities.

CREW VALIDATIONS
Crew validations can be arranged.

REGISTRATION FEES
In line with Isle of Man Government policy Registration Fees will be maintained at the lowest possible level.
